About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Electromechanical Designer professional to join our engineering team, and work on our cutting edge 5G Fronthaul and Backhaul Ethernet transport products. This includes the design of Sheetmetal parts, stamped metal parts. It also includes understanding electronics manufacturing processes to determine the best mechanical design of the printed circuit boards.

Pay Rate: $133,680-$147,048/year.

Requirements

What you'll do 

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the full life cycle of the development of our Ethernet products system.

  • Must have CREO parametric design experience to produce mechanical designs.

  • Knowledge of using AutoCAD to support and sustain existing product documentation.

  • Knowledge materials and finishes, which applies Sheetmetal processes.

  • Knowledge geometric dimensions and tolerancing (GD&T)/ASME Y14.5.

  • Create detailed designs of mechanical parts.

  • Knowledge of mechanical stress analysis and thermal simulations.

  • Conduct mechanical design reviews.

  • Procure and evaluate prototype mechanical parts.

  • Assemble mechanical parts for prototype models.

  • Work with manufacturing to incorporate DFM requirements into the mechanical design.

  • Work very close with manufacturing in finding solutions to resolve assembly issues.

  • Create mechanical design release packages for production.

  • Evaluate production tooled parts.

  • Support manufacturing for pilot product introductions.

  • Provide mechanical sustaining engineering.

  • Provide support to create project proposals / statements of work.

  • Work with the project team and project manager to create project plans.

  • Work with electrical engineers and PCB designers to accommodate electronics into design.

  • Work closely with document control for support, provide drawings, and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO).

  • Oversee mechanical design processes.

  • Select electro-mechanical parts (connectors, cables, potentiometers, encoders, etc.) with input from electrical engineers.

 

What we're looking for 

The successful candidate will have experience in or knowledge of: 

  • Experienced in design using CREO parametric and producing detailed drawing for fabricating design parts.

  • Use of AutoCAD in creating assemblies for sustaining product.

  • Applying Sheetmetal techniques in mechanical design to recuse cost.

  • Apply DFM through the design process to facilitate assembly and reduce assembly cost.


Must Have

The successful candidate will have experience in or knowledge of: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or associate in science with minimum of 10 years of field experience.

  • Experienced in designing electronic enclosures including airflow and thermal analyses.

  • Knowledgeable about dense, multi-layer high-speed PC Boards materials and design practices.

  • Knowledgeable about safety, EMI and other regulatory approval processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good teamwork.
